Why locals love it
Locals that live in Noord are mostly people with a somewhat lower budget and people that have chosen to live outside of the busy part of Amsterdam, but still near the centre. Noord is located on the other side of the water, which has slowed down the growth of the neighborhood. There is relatively little to see, but the buiksloterdijk is a treasure.

Why you should visit it
If you want to see the part of Amsterdam which still looks like a village, butt will soon be transformed into a part of the big city, visit Noord. Buiksloterdijk is the street with the oldest houses in the neighborhood, built next to the water. You can imagine how the early Amsterdam must have looked like.
