If the thrill of discovering a hidden dodgy-dingy very smoky cellar bar is something you enjoy, you’re gonna love finding this place. Despite being right on the main street, this place is mainly populated with locals because of the lack of a properly exhibited sign. If you head down Str. Republicii, keep your eyes fixed to your right after passing the McDonalds – the tiny dim-lit alleyway will lead you down the stairs into Britannia.

The bar welcomes you with bar staff really uninterested in serving you a drink, locals interested in how you found this place and you being surprised and probably scared about what’s happening next. This place is probably shocking (especially after a visit to the incredibly surprising bathrooms) at first, but it grows on you. You will find all sorts of people here but the regulars are mainly rockers and alternative folks.

After a few visits, Britannia will welcome you with cool conversations with locals and probably the cheapest drinks in the old town and the initial shock will turn into an awesome experience.
