If you find yourself trapped in Caracas on a Sunday morning and with no plans, the experience of the Chinese market will cheer you up with its flavor and diversity! In an area called El Bosque, every Sunday from 6am to 12pm, a public market is organized by the local Chinese community. This part of the town is what could be considered the Chinatown of Caracas and it is visited by people from all over the city to taste the now internationally famous Chinese cuisine!
The market, usually a place to buy vegetables, meat and materials, has nowadays become the place where Caracas' people go for an original brunch on Sunday mornings, especially because the market also offers dishes that have already been prepared and that you can enjoy on spot!
From Gyosas to Buns and the excellent and light Chinese rolling cakes, everything from Asia you can be found this market, including ingredients to make sushi, cookies, and sauces. Access the market by walking from Chacaito subway station uphill towards Av. Principal El Bosque. For those up for an uphill walk, a short taxi ride from Chacaíto or Chacao subway stations is highly recommended.
