The National Art Gallery is a truly modern museum. The central part of the artistic modern complex encompasses two areas of 2,500 m2 and hosts the currently opened exhibitions. The building was designed by the architect Carlos Gomez Llerena. It includes a total of 27,000 m2 of exhibition space. The gallery dates back to the 70’s.
Why you should visit it
We recommended visiting the collection of prehispanic objects and the paintings of the greatest Venezuelan painters from the 19th century (Arturo Michelena, Cristobal Rojas and Martin Tovar y Tovar). Their work is appreciated all over the world, and for Venezuelans their pieces are part of the national heritage.
Access to the gallery is a short walk from the Bellas Artes metro station. The most famous paiting to visit "Miranda en la Carraca"
