The Palace Bar

Why locals love it

One of Dublin's best Victorian pubs, its like going back in time. In the 40's, 50's & 60's it was home to reporters, journalists and famous Irish writers and was owned by the Irish Times Editor. The Irish Times was just minutes away the pub was a hub of activity and excitement. The family that run it have been there since 1946.

Why you should visit it

Its real, its cool, its beautiful and unspoilt. Its family run, its in a great location. You can do all your touristy things then head here and stay away from Temple Bar as its God Awful and full of tourist attraction fake places. Despite being in Temple Bar its actually on the edge.

Special tip

The Guinness is outstanding, we Irish love our Guinness and the correct pour is like religion. Great place to hangout on sporting days.
