The Gardener's Cottage is not an usual type of restaurant. It's located in a historic building at the foot of the Calton hill, away from tourists and the hustle and bustle of Leith Walk. Everyone sits together at candle-lit common tables and eat a five course set menu. Beautifully cooked seasonal food. Delicious it is!

Why you should visit it
Perfect place for a special romantic dinner - if you don't mind sitting in the company of strangers at a cosy shared table. The set menu is no-choice (although dietary requirements are catered for) and changes daily. The cute building dates from 1836 and once it was in fact the cottage of a gardener. Today they still grow their own vegetables.
