Why locals love it?
Tourism in Kaunas got more approx. 5 years ago. More and more plains were landing here and bringing bigger variety of travelers. City became easier to access. It is a bit off the beaten track. That's why backpackers just adore it. If there are real travelers in the city, there has to be a backpackers hostel and Monk's Bunk was the first one!
Why you should visit it
A small and social backpackers hostel. Guests are treated as friends rather than customers and staff members knows everything about Kaunas. It seems that you can find here everything you need: a big kitchen, laundry service, great common area, TV, Foosball table (very popular game in Lithuania), guitar, djembe, bicycles, tours etc...
Special tip
On Wednesdays they organize backpackers pub-crawl including travelers from other hostels.

A well thought through socially acitve hostel, right in the center of Kaunas. A cozy place, professional workers and good atmosphere. Don't be afraid to ask for advice here, because you will receive some top of the list ideas to do in Kaunas. Worth a visit :)

Monk's Bunk Kaunas is a sight for the sore eyes of a weary traveler! It is a home, a social hub, and a great base for exploring the culture-rich city of Kaunas- Also, Viktoras is by far the most welcoming and genuinely generous host I have had the pleasure of staying with on my 10 month backpacking trip across Europe. This place is a gem, don't let it pass you by.

the whole Lithuanian experience was amazing for me and staying in Viktora's Hostel made it even greater!!! the place really feels like home!!! the shelf with the books to exchange, the common area, the wall with all the flags, just all super great ideas!!! Hope to get to visit it again really soon!!!

awesome place! had a great time hanging out in the common area and the staff were really friendly and helpful. showed me the best places to visit in the city, including some nice hidden, alternative places. was also able to get some discounts at a few bars and restaurants thanks to them. room was nice and the hostel was clean and very comfortable

This place is super awesome! Great atmosphere and be sure to challenge the owner Viktoras to a game of foosball or a spot of poker. And all the ladies dance to the musical instruments in common room - waaaaat Ill be back.

Hostel is amazing. The owners were so friendly and helpful, really helped us have a great time in Kaunas. They know a lot of people in the city, and in other cities as well and helped us find some really cool stuff to do!
