Why locals love it
Nymphenburg Palace is not a cozy little cottage. It is grand in every sense of the word. There are many castles in and around Munich but this one appears like the ones you know from fairy tales. A little outside the city center it is set in a wonderful location and huge park ideal for long walks comes just right with it.
Why you should visit it
It is not as entertaining on the inside (like most castles) but the sheer expanse of this complex is definitely worth taking a look at once. Fantastic views all around and a perfect place for walking around or finding a quite spot to relax.
Special tip
The botanical garden is well-worth a visit.
