The Eiffel Tower was originally built as a temporary entrance arch to the 1889 World Fair, but was so unique that it quickly became an iconic symbol of France. Today you can climb the tower by foot as far as the second level, or take an elevator to any of its three viewing storeys for stunning views across the city.

At 276 metres above the ground, the observatory on the third level is the highest publicly accessible viewing platform in Europe. For special occasions, you can eat at upmarket restaurants located on the first and second floors.
Climb the tower in the evening around the turn of the hour when it begins to sparkle. Now you're really in the City of Light!
