If you are wondering why this gentleman is holding a newspaper, it's because Jannsen was pretty much the founder of Estonian journalism. Johann Voldemar Jansen is also known as the composer of Estonian anthem and the first choir festival organizer.

Why you should visit it

The statue was erected to celebrate the 150-year anniversary of the first Estonian newspaper, called Perno Postimees. Is situated in the main shopping street, so woun't miss it.
