Why locals love it?

Riga Cathedral recently celebrated its 800th birthday. It's one of the eldest and also the biggest church in Latvia. During the Soviet times the Cathedral was changed into a concert hall, the altar was removed and the seats faced the organ. Now it's a lutheran church but it still houses great organ concerts.

Why you should visit it

It's great to forget about dubstep, pop and rock for 30 minutes and enjoy organ music. The Riga Cathedral offers organ concerts every day at 12 during the summer season. Admission to the concert is 5 Ls.

Special tip

After the concert take a short walk around the courtyard of the Dome - even most Latvians don’t know it’s there.
