Some Rigans think there’s nothing to do or see in the City. Those few obviously use a mysterious bus without the windows. Honesty, even living here all our lives, we sometimes go out and feel like we’re having a date with our own city discovering new, little characteristics we’ve skipped on the way till now. And that never stops.
Considered to be among the most important Art Nouveau cities in Europe, having the Old Town that is included in the UNESCO world heritage list, hosting more alternative areas like Miera Street, Spīķeri and Kalnciema Street Block the city itself will entertain you even before you go into all the museums, galleries, shops, restaurants and take tours outside the center. Don’t be ashamed to walk around with your camera like a real tourist, we promise, you’ll have lots of pictures to take!
