Known in Italy as an enoteca, or wine bar, VinAllegro is by far my favorite of the area. Centrally located (literally in the heart of Trastevere) yet tucked away enough to give it the advantage of not being continuously overrun by tourists, it's a perfect little spot for a date but also for aperitivo with the girls - or the guys!

Why you should visit it
VinAllegro is what you might picture a wine bar in Italy being, intimate and a little whimsical. The aperitivo buffet is fresh and filling, and they have a healthy selection of wine and liqueurs. Some parts of the year they offer a 10 PM dessert aperitivo - a good drink and homemade sweets tucked in a corner of the best city in the world!
Special tip
When the weather is warm, sit at the little tables outside, just perfect for people watching over a glass of wine.
