Let’s face it, sometimes when traveling with a group, or even just with your partner it can be difficult to decide what activity to do next. One may want to eat a real quality meal while the other may want to have a drink, see a show or do something besides just sitting down and eating. The ideal would be to find a place where you can blend all these, right? Well, in that case, Al Muluk is just the place.
A Lebanese family runs this eclectic restaurant, located not that far from San José downtown. As they use their traditional family recipes you get to explore the Middle Eastern flavors, which means taste the actual country and not just an interpretation of what people think their food tastes like. We should add that besides being a really nice restaurant, you could just order a beer and chill out while snacking on some hummus (which is to die for).
As a bonus, if you happen to go dining on a Friday night, you’ll be amazed by the belly dancing live show they present. Sometimes the owner plays the durbakke or Lebanese drums, while his sisters dance various types of belly dancing. Their show is completely eye-catching, to the point that you might even forget you were eating in the first place! So if you are in the mood of getting familiar with a new culture go to Al Muluk and you’ll see what it feels like to travel without ever leaving your actual location.
