Stockholm locals often take their visitors here to experience the beauty of the city from above. Although Katarinahissen (“The Katarina Elevator”) is out of service, you can still access the viewing point by taking the stairs.

Why you should visit it
Katarinahissen is a local landmark located just across the road from Slussen subway station. Below the footbridge to the elevator you’ll find a restaurant called Gondolen – savour a cocktail in their highly reputable bar while soaking up the scenery. It’s a fairly pricey place, but a sunset tipple is more than worth it for the views.
Special tip
Take the Södermalmstorg subway exit.
