Why locals love it?

The Sõprus cinema has found its niche screening the somewhat less mainstream films. It's also used as a venue for various festivals and hosts some screenings for the annual PÖFF festival. Sõprus also boasts comfy lounge-like seating and has, contrary to most multiplex complexes, a cool cinema bar where you'll actually want to hang out.

Why you should visit it

Sõprus offers a repertoire that caters to the more tasteful movie-goer while not swinging too far into obscurity. For the Tallinn party crowd, the imposing Stalinist building is mainly famous for housing a nightclub, but the house was originally built as a cinema, complete with two auditoriums and a cafe. Definitely don't expect popcorn.

Special tip

Notice how real cinema-like the room itself is.
