Krooks is one of those pubs that has stood the test of time. Interestingly, it has done so by not taking any sides. The different parts of its broad customer base all lay claim on the place, but the pub itself has remained ambiguous.

Why you should visit it
It's located conveniently on the border of the centre and another district, drawing people from both directions. Whatever the reason behind Krooks' success, you can see families digging into their excellent value meals by day, only to relinquish their seats to some rockers enjoying a Slayer gig on the screen a few hours later.
Special tip
Their acoustic nights and drum karaoke are definite musts!
