Why locals love it?

The most famous prison in Lithuania. Everyone knows it's name. There are many serious criminals. Also the one who are imprisoned for life. I guess locals are happy we don't have that many escapes here.

Why you should visit it

This one’s a bit of a shocker as you wouldn’t expect to find one of Lithuania’s toughest prisons so close to the country’s parliament right at the heart of the city. Looking more like a cathedral than a jailhouse, only the barbed wire and conspicuously high walls give it away. Absolutely no throwing of parcels over the wall permitted.
