Located in the former building of a Dutch newspaper. Get in the elevator, push '7' and prepare for a nice experience. Canvas is where creative Amsterdam meets to (review) work while having lunch, a great coffee or a cocktail. This place offers a wide variety of events, from jam sessions and movie events to electronic dance parties and jazz nights.
Why you should visit it
Besides that Canvas is one of the few places in Amsterdam that has a roof terrace, it also has a very relaxed atmosphere and even better service. The expositions on the restaurant/lounge's walls answer why it is called 'Canvas'. After dinner the place changes into one big dance floor.
Special tip
Some find it tricky to find the entrance. Just enter the building, walk all the way to the end and the elevator is on the right.
