This museum used to be a care-house for old women during the Golden Age. The architecture is simply stunning, and I love just walking through the hallways and imagining what life must have been like for all these elderly people and the regents that supervised them. These walls tell multiple stories, and each time I go there I discover a new one.

The care-house has been a dependance of the famous St. Petersburg Hermitage since 2009. Beautiful (art-)objects from its treasuries are shown here. Because of their co-operation with the Amsterdam Museum, the 'Portrait Gallery' exhibition can be visited. You can spy the 'brothers and sisters' of Rembrandt's famous Nightwatch on 30 group portraits.
The museum houses a few spots where you can still notice the traces of the old care-house. The authentically restored kitchen is worth peeking into!
