Why locals love it
Max Euwe was a Dutch chess player and world champion for some years in the 30's. To honor him, he got a square named after him. Of course the square needed something to connect with chess, so a big chess board was made.
Why you should visit it
If you think you can beat the old locals in chess, this might be something for you. But only watching can also be a pleasure. And if you're nog into chess, there are a lot of other things to do on this square, but it's next to the Hard Rock Café, so it's very touristic.
