The center of Amsterdam has two relatively big concert halls, Paradiso and Melkweg. Melkweg opened two years after Paradiso, in 1970. Melkweg is homed by an old milk factory. quite a unique location, just behind Leidseplein. It is popular among locals because it hosts literally all kinds of musical artists, theater, cinema and photography.
