we go out the streets! All of the city is packed with stuff, cloths, house stuff, furniture, and anything in between that they sell really cheap! a must is to make a deal over price! De 9 straatjes, the Jordaan, Westerstraat, All the parks but especially Vondelpark (where kids also have their own tribute) the center, is full of sell n buy, parties, and lots of booze! The night before, great parties are happening, weather permitted , outside! Go out and have a blast! check Amsterdam for specific info for parties!

Thank you Dina!
Put on some orange clothes and stroll around! In the morning you will find small kids trying to sell self made cookies, playing music and all kind of nice stalls where people try to sell old stuff. Try the Jordaan area. Later in the day you can enjoy live music and have a beer in the crowd. Start early, the city is soo nice in the morning at Kingsday.
Thank you CC :)
Here's a blog post I wrote about it when it was still Queen's Day. The big gathering places are near Leidesplein and Museumplein and Rembrandtplein. It's the night before (Koningsavond) that's the big deal, tons of partying and then the next day, if it's nice you want to be in and around the canals. But be prepared there is essentially no public transport in the center for most of the day and it's super crowded. http://danalesramblings.blogspot.nl/search/label/Queen%27s%20Day

Thank you Dana, I will check out your link. :) I blog myself!
Everyone tries to dress as orange as they can; try at least to do wear something orange; can be anything...glasses, hat, whig, T-shirt 😉 The Jordaan area is a very nice small scale part of town, with cosiness and fun and garage sale on the streets but: go there in the morning, cause in the afternoon it will be too crowded. In the afternoon you can move a little out of the centre (Vondelpark area) to relax, enjoy music and (hopefully) sun. I always love the silly activities that students organise and the little children do (music acts etc) to earn some money.

The city centre is really busy, if you like crowds, go there. The more you go from the centre the more quit it will be. All the parks have good fibes and you can get food everywhere.

We go to the local market outside of the centre. People sell their stuff on the street and Local bands play on the street. Hardly any tourist. We always go to the Hogeweg
