If you need a place to write that book you're working on in the middle of a peaceful green park, this is the place for you. The Generator is a wonderful period building hidden behind trees in the Oosterpark, Amsterdam. It also boasts one of the most unique bars you're likely to come across; a converted auditorium!

Why you should visit it
The Oosterpark (Eastern park) is Amsterdam's most recently renovated and is a wonderful place to escape the city in it's own right. The parks hidden treasure though, is definately The Generator. You can pop into the cafe for a great cup of coffee with a view, or the auditorium bar for a beer with a real sense of theatre.
Special tip
Take the stairs right to the rafters and escape into the library room for some "you time"!
