During this tour your private guide will introduce you to the history of the Red Light District and explain how the local community lives, works and plays in Amsterdam after dark.
The first stop will be a smart shop (a retail establishment that sells psychoactive substances), where you’ll learn how and why the first smart shop came into existence. Next up, you’ll visit a coffee shop. You’ll discover why drugs aren’t legal in the Netherlands, what coffee shops are and what they sell, giving you a better sense of the local culture.
The final stop will be a Belgian beer bar. You’ll get to choose from more than 58 types of beer while your guide shares insider tips on Amsterdam’s nightlife.
The Dutch believe in engaging in open conversation instead of ignoring taboo subjects altogether. We find it much more effective to inform and control rather than having to deal with the consequences. How and why this happens will be further explained throughout the tour.
