Amsterdam Noord: exploring an unknown city

Here you will not be able to see old historical buildings, cozy bridges and majestic churches. Instead, we offer you to explore some new areas, famous for its incredible modern architecture, contemporary street art, innovative startups and social projects.

We will start our tour at the Amsterdam Centraal Station, where you can rent a perfect bike for our day cruise. Don’t be scared of a crazy traffic! The district we will go to is absolutely safe for cycling.

After that, just like locals we will jump on the ferry, that will bring us to the opposite side of the city, previously known as an industrial area of Amsterdam. The ferry travel will last for 10 minutes only. In a meantime we would like to show you beautiful view on Eye museum, Amsterdam Toren, building designed by Mvrdv and other unusual projects.

During our cycling tour we will find out why this industrial district was developed into one of the most fashionable and beloved places for locals. Together with you we will discover how rusty construction crane was turned into a luxury hotel or port containers, ferries and old trams into lovely comfortable apartments, art galleries or cozy bars. In one of those bars we would like to offer you a little break, so you could enjoy a lovely carrot cake and incredible panoramic view, accompanied by our stories about Dutch innovations, social projects, cultural life, subsidies and many others.

After, we would like to show you some other local sights, such as former shipyard turned into creative space with workshops; modern architecture; floating sustainable housing; eco-village and a little 3D-printed house, partly built of potato peel!

We will finish our inspiring adventure at the Centraal Station, where you can leave your bikes.
