Fascinating and informative guided tour
Fascinating and informative guided tour about the history of the old Amsterdam neighbourhood ‘De Jordaan’. Guide Breklyn takes you to places tourists would not normally find by themselves, and some other hidden gems. Interesting places: the corridors of Willemstreet, Johnny Jordaan Square, Begijnhof (former Béguinage), Westerchurch, Homomonument, and so much more.

Lovely tour of Amsterdam
This was such a lovely tour! It was so nice to do a tour of the canals with just my family. Vanessa told us interesting stories as went thru the canals. With her small boat she was able to take us down some of the quieter canals that the larger tour boats can't travel down. Wet had our teenagers and Grandma with us and everyone enjoyed this tour.

Don’t hesitate! This is the boat you want :)
Carl was an amazing host. He made me and my friends feel at ease and made the entire experience perfect. He offers great local insight to Amsterdam and some interesting history along the way, but clearly reads the group and delivers whatever will make the trip most enjoyable for everyone. Cant recommend it enough.

A master class taught by an expert.
Karla was remarkable. She spent three hours with us. First setting the stage in the museum cellar, then ascending into the rest of the building. She got us through crowds and positioned us to enable getting a senses not just of the art but if the historical context. Karla is outstanding.

Leemstar and Ivo made our Amsterdam vacation fantastic!
My family, on our recent short trip to Amsterdam, booked a private canal tour with Leemstar Cruises in a restored, fully electric saloon boat. What a fantastic way to see the city! Ivo started the tour by making sure we were comfortable. When we climbed aboard the saloon was warm and inviting, which was important because it was very cold outside. My family settled in to beers, cheese, and stories about the famous Amsterdam canals. Ivo is funny and energetic. His stories range from historical to local jokes and customs. He doesn't act like a stuffy, boring tour guide. He makes you feel welcome, like you're cruising the canals with a good friend. He makes you feel like a local, which is what we always want when we travel. My family wants to experience what it's like to be a part of the culture, and Leemstar and Ivo capture that experience perfectly. We will definitely return to Amsterdam in warmer weather, and we will definitely ride with Leemstar and Ivo again.

PERFECT WAY TO SEE THE CANALS AND AMSTERDAM LIGHT FESTIVAL.
We were traveling with a party of 7 and wanted to do a canal cruise that was a bit more personal. After a bit of googling I came across Leemstar which got very good reviews so I decided to book it. I emailed and received confirmation and a link to pay straight away. We also received clear instructions where to meet them on the canal as apparently they can’t put signs up. We took our own cheese platter and alcohol and enjoyed a lovely 90 minute tour of the canals and the Amsterdam light festival. The boat was closed in for our evening cruise and had heating so we were all very warm and cosy. Floris was our Captain and guide and he explained the history of Amsterdam to us and answered any questions we had along the way about life in Amsterdam. If you want a more personalised canal cruise this one is definitely worth the money. We would all highly recommend a cruise on these lovely old boats. Thank Floris for a wonderful cruise.

Only if you want the best of the best!
Amsterdam is crazy popular town and so there are many tour agencies to choose from.
Most of the them are run-of-the-mill. “Your Own Holland” is *completely* different. Anastasia is in love with that town and knows more about it that (I suspect:) most natives. She will take you to cute little streets you would have never found yourself and answer questions you secretly wondered, but were afraid to ask (why so many buildings look like they are titling forward and how do you get a piano up the Dutch stairs?).
Not only she is super knowledgeable, she has a lovely personality and great organizational skills.
We’ve had three tours with her so far and every one was as different as it was amazing.
Pick this one.
You won’t be sorry.

If you want to visit the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum and come away with a rewarding experience, I highly recommend Karolina. We only had one day to see both. She showed us all the highlights and provided just the right amount of in-depth details without information overload. We are not art buffs but we felt like ones after the tour. Then she took us for a lovely hands-on street tour of some of the Amsterdam neighborhoods. Very knowledgeable, great personality, and a real pro. Thanks Karolina.

An insider's tour through the Amsterdam canals
Vera gave us a fantastic tour across the canals of the Amsterdam city centre. She had great stories, anecdotes and information about the city that you can only really get from a local.

The boat was a brilliant, 100 year old vessel that was very comfortable and came equipped with drinks and refreshments. My guests loved it and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to try something different from the regular canal tours outside Centraal Station.

Great insight on canal life
Our guide, Arnold, was very knowledgeable about various aspects of buildings and locations along the canal, and really was able to provide quite a bit of knowledge about canal life and the politics of the canals nowadays. He has a relaxed and friendly manner that is so much better than the prerecorded stuff on the mega-boats. Also, having fewer passengers on the Leemstar helps contribute to the personlized experience.

Highly recommended.

Fantastic!
This was an fantastic afternoon. Not only is a canal cruise the best way to see Amsterdam but our guides were excellent. Karl and his partner were fun, laid back and full of information about Amsterdam. They filled up our drinks, provided great conversation and took us to all the great spots. I've been on the canals before and this was by far the best one. Highly recommend these guys! I'll be booking again when we have other guests.

Fantastic quality time in Amsterdam
I visited many tours with Your Own Holland (Amsterdam highlights, Amsterdam Jordan area, Jewish Amsterdam, Haarlem, Leiden, tours in farms) and every time I get so much positivity, knowledge, exciting facts, stories to remember, stories to share with friends and family and most importantly, their team is just fantastic! Each guide is extremely knowledgeable, very warm and pleasant person.

Happy to visit again and again!

If Dr Karlonia isn't already a national treasure, she needs to be. Superlatives do not begin to paint the picture. she is all of that and more. Great communicator. Steeped in historical and local knowledge. Worldly in triangulating history (art, literature, architecture, social, political) and the human stories. a rare treat and worth sharing with others. two enthusiastic thumbs up for karolina !

Best boat trip ever!
We had a 2 hour lovely tour in the Amsterdam canals. I felt like a celebrity as lot's of people took pictures of the boat (and us)- no surprise as this is really the cutest boat in the canal. It is over 100 years old and the schipper shared the history with us which is fascinating. Best thing: it's all electric which is so soothing and quiet cruising the canals. Highly recommended

A pleasant time
Karl and his partner run a lovely job, and you can feel that atmosphere. Since the beginning he was available on several emails exchanges to make all doubts cleared. The tour itself was nice and comfortable. He explain main things but also let you enjoy the view and the peace around the canals while tasting a french red wine. Super! Thanks buddies!
