We will start our tour at the Amsterdam Centraal Station, where you can rent a perfect bike for our day cruise. Once you have one, we will cycle away from the busy city to the quiet countryside, where it will be absolutely safe to cycle even for beginners!
What will we see during this day?
There are will be a lot cozy wooden houses built in the 16th and 17th centuries on our way! Those ones, that look like from a fairy tale: with hand painted shutters, lace curtains and beautiful gardens! Let’s discover their stories and myths and with a cup of coffee in the brown bar, standing on top of the old dyke?
After a little coffee break we will continue moving towards the countryside, cycling along the canals and wild swans, old private houses and fabolous hydrangea shrubs. Here you can find out more about Dutch landscape design and attitudes towards nature. Once we are outside of cityring, we will be surrounded by one of the most beautiful pastoral landscape of infinite fields and polders, white lambs and horses, wooden bridges, houseboats and dairy farms. We will definitely visit some of them to try some homemade ice-cream or fresh milk and to find out more about the modern farmers life, agricultural innovations and social projects!
Our road will bring us to some old merchant towns and fishing villages, loved by locals because of its incredibly cozy atmosphere, but still unknown among tourists. If you would like to feel like a local, you should definitely try some traditional pancakes served with hundred different toppings in the old wooden house! No worries, if this is not your favorite meal! We will have a lot of other things to try: smoked eel, herring, Dutch beer, apple pie and other local delicacies.
We will make a stop in every city on our way to visit village churches, local city halls, sculpture park, cozy cafes and just to walk around those lovely old streets! We will tell you history of those places and talk about fisherman's, or merchant’s lifestyles, modern attitude towards religion and many other interesting things!
