Edam and Volendam: the charms of rural life

We believe, that blooming gardens, old wooden houses, cozy green alleys and fabolous apple pie served for lunch on the banks of a canal overgrown with apple trees and hydrangeas is one of the best medicines against urban bustle!

We will meet at the Amsterdam Centraal Station, from where we will take a bus to ride to those fabolous towns - Edam and Volendam. The travel time takes no more than 20 minutes.
Strolling along an incredibly beautiful streets with a view of canals, infinite fields with wooden houses, farms and wild swans, we will visit a lot of sightseeings on our way, such as: medieval Weigh House, the most humpback bridge in the country, the cheese museum, catholic churches, cozy hofjes and old art-residency made especially for Dutch and French impressionists.
We will get lost in the cozy streets of fishing town Volendam, walk around the promenade overlooking the yachts and taste some local delicacies, such as famous Dutch herring and cheese!
Here we will tell you about Dutch history, local traditions and mysterious legends. Let’s figure out, who the Dutch people are? What do they find important or interesting? How do they relate to family, religion or art? How they celebrate their holidays and plan their quality-time with friends? Indeed, how does it feel to live in Dutch countrysides?
