Description

Rembrandt, Vermeer, Hals and Steen. See the highlights of the collection in an inspiring way.

Just like any other national museum, the Rijksmuseum is too big. It would take a week to see everything. Join me and avoid tiredness, frustration and irritation!

A tour with a qualified art historian who knows her way through the collection is a much more interesting experience.

If you want to visit the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum and come away with a rewarding experience, I highly recommend Karolina. We only had one day to see both. She showed us all the highlights and provided just the right amount of in-depth details without information overload. We are not art buffs but we felt like ones after the tour. Then she took us for a lovely hands-on street tour of some of the Amsterdam neighborhoods. Very knowledgeable, great personality, and a real pro. Thanks Karolina.
Very good tour and helpful guide
Karla arranged getting our tickets and met us at the Rijksmuseum for a 2 hour overview tour. All worked smoothly. Karla has an excellent background/education and was very clear and articulate in discussing the art, history and architecture of the museum. She also started in the ship section of the museum which was fascinating and area we likely would have not spent time on ourselves. She was quite helpful at the end of the tour and gave us suggestions for the rest of our stay in Amsterdam. I highly recommend taking an overview tour like this as the museum is large and can be overwhelming!
Disappointed
Karolina was unable to make an appointment at our requested time. I asked if she knew anyone else. She was gracious and found someone for us, however he was not very knowledgeable on the art. We would have been better off taking the self tour. He was very nice and friendly, but it was not what we expected, nor was it worth the price. Probably won't try this site again. :(

If Dr Karlonia isn't already a national treasure, she needs to be. Superlatives do not begin to paint the picture. she is all of that and more. Great communicator. Steeped in historical and local knowledge. Worldly in triangulating history (art, literature, architecture, social, political) and the human stories. a rare treat and worth sharing with others. two enthusiastic thumbs up for karolina !

Karla provided our group with a historical walking tour of Amsterdam as well as a guided tour of the Van Gogh and Rijks museums. Her knowledge is only surpassed by her wonderful personality. The background information that she provided was at the right level i.e. not too little but not too much. She was absolutely OUTSTANDING!
A great guy but not a tour guide
We booked a day private tour. We were told by the owner that the driver who was available was an experienced tour guide. When we arrived for our tour, The driver told us he was the father in-law of the expected tour guide and was subbing for her because she was already booked. He is a genuinely a nice guy, but has no clue about giving a tour. He mentioned his daughter in-law was very experienced and had a degree in art history. However, the father in-law at times did not even know the name of the place he was driving us through, had very limited knowledge about the area and history. For the full price they charged, this is not worth it and I would not recommend it.
