Best bike tour in Amsterdam
Four friends staying in Amsterdam and we decided to do a bike tour and so happy we did. We had comfortable bikes, we had a gorgeous young guide Nicky who lived in Amsterdam and told us history points and showed us all over the city at a leisurely pace so we could enjoy the scenery and take in the sights. We would highly recommend this as great value for money and lots of fun.

Great opportunity to explore Amsterdam with locals!

English:
Marvelous Amsterdam bike tour, during 3 hours you will:
- visit beautiful neighborhoods that you would want to come back to and listen to stories about local traditions and history
- sip a coffee in a local place while chatting with other bike tourists all over the globe
- feel like a local, as locals can't imagine their life without a bicycle!

Many thanks to the team, I learned a lot during the tour about Amsterdam and visited so many places I would not be able to if I were on feet!

Hidden Gems of Amsterdam Bike Tour
Great fun!
We had such a blast on the hidden gems tour. Guide was knowledgeable, took us to some less touristy spots like a local market (not the flower one) and the widows courtyard, had a really good understanding of history and helped us navigate bike riding in the Netherlands. Easy pace and comfy bike, even for those who don’t love bike riding. They also ended up giving us a private tour and were very accommodating when our trains delayed our meet up time. Only odd part at the end was that the guide seemed to expect a tip (which I gladly gave because he was amazing) but when you read that some European countries don’t tip, I wasn’t sure how to proceed.

Most comfortable bike seat EVER!
My husband and I went on the bike tour and were very pleased all parts of the service. The bikes were comfortable, there were frequent stops to talk about sites and culture, the guide (Charlotte) was knowledgeable approachable and shared her passion for her native city. It helped see the city from a very different perspective. Thank you. Highly recommended.

John is knowleadge and friendly
I participated in the one-hour city bike today afternoon, and John has a very typical American accent which is easy to understand for non-native English speaker. It will be the best way to explore the city, while you don't need to concern about getting lost.
I will be the bike tour next year if I have more spare time. Personally, I highly recommend it !!

Lovely tour of Amsterdam
This was such a lovely tour! It was so nice to do a tour of the canals with just my family. Vanessa told us interesting stories as went thru the canals. With her small boat she was able to take us down some of the quieter canals that the larger tour boats can't travel down. Wet had our teenagers and Grandma with us and everyone enjoyed this tour.

I had 2 days in Amsterdam and would very much like to see the WHOLE of Amsterdam! There were so many Must Dos and such limited time. Thus, i decided to get myself a guide. I found Rolf on Tripadvisor, and true to the recommendations! Rolf was SUPERD, right from my 1st email. He was very responsive, providing me with many details, suggestions on how to structure my trip. I bombarded him with MANY emails, on the places i want to see etc and he never fails to patiently reply them. After the many emails, he truely feels like a long time friend!!

I finally settled on Red light district tour and a 5hr bike tour into the countryside as seeing the windmills were also one of my must-dos! Rolf picked me up for the RLD tour at my hotel. The tour was not only informative, but he also shared many fun stories on the RLD. On top of the RLD, he also made extra efforts to point out some little hidden "gems" of Amsterdam! Interesting little places, totally hidden from the main streets!.. I am sure MANY will MISS it.. if not for Rolf!!

The next day, i went on a bike tour around Amsterdam and into greater Amsterdam! Of course i got the picture of my windmill! Rolf definitely has a vast knowledge of architecture. Along the bike tour, he never fails to point out not only places of attractions, but also the different interesting architecture of Amsterdam. As a tourist, i find that very informative, and helps me remember places better! Rolf have that personal touch, easy going, always having a story in place. There was not one awkward silence given there were just him and me on the trip! In fact, as some reviews said, Rolf feels more like a long time buddy than a tour guide!

For anyone who wants to see Amsterdam, Rolf definitely the one!!! To me, the tour was beyond expectations. I wanted to see Amsterdam, he showed me the REAL Amsterdam and on top of that, i felt he also gave me a glimpse of the culture, history and even the lifestyle of the Dutch. Kudos to Rolf!

Visited Amsterdam for 4 days for a long weekend at the end of September. The pre-booked tour was certainly one of our highlights. Lots of the previous reviewers cover all the plus points. Specific to our own experience (2 adults) I would make reference to:

1) Thijs our guide and co-owner was a great knowledgeable host
2) The 3 hour duration was well paced and a small group was ideal for cycling around the city
3) Amsterdam is really busy in terms of bikes (push and motor) - this tour takes away any potential fear factor as much of the itinerary takes you to the quieter areas and when the traffic is busier Thijs ensures everyone is comfortable on 2 wheels!
4) Excellent visits to hidden churches, museum square, residential courtyards, parks and several districts are covered

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour and if I could turn back the clock might have done it earlier during our stay - certainly an excellent way to get a feel for navigating around this fascinating city and at 25 euros per person represents great value.

Absolutely have to recommend these guys!

Bikes were great, had hand brakes, easy locks, simple gears and very comfortable to ride. Thijs, our awesome guide, was very professional gave us lots of interesting information, history etc. Pace was a bit slow for me (an active cyclist) but only because we had a large group; so no real compliant there. We got to see a number of out of the way things, more of the real Amsterdam.

Price for the time, thought put into the tour and what we saw was ridiculously good. Loved the pit stop at a lovely cafe in a quiet residential neighborhood. Thijs also gave us a fabulous recommendation for a meal afterward.

To sum up good bang for your buck! Go with We Bike Amsterdam if you want a great bike tour that's more than just the tourist traps.

Only if you want the best of the best!
Amsterdam is crazy popular town and so there are many tour agencies to choose from.
Most of the them are run-of-the-mill. “Your Own Holland” is *completely* different. Anastasia is in love with that town and knows more about it that (I suspect:) most natives. She will take you to cute little streets you would have never found yourself and answer questions you secretly wondered, but were afraid to ask (why so many buildings look like they are titling forward and how do you get a piano up the Dutch stairs?).
Not only she is super knowledgeable, she has a lovely personality and great organizational skills.
We’ve had three tours with her so far and every one was as different as it was amazing.
Pick this one.
You won’t be sorry.

J
absolutely amazing! the whole service is excellent and i would never have been able to pull this off without them. i would pay the price just to be able to discuss possible proposal locations!
the photographers we were assigned spent over a week travelling around Amsterdam trying to find locations perfect for me and my partner. they sent pictures back and forth with lots of information about the location, how to get to the location and how populated it tended to be at the time of the day we planned to be there.
i literally couldn't give this service anymore praise and if you are reading this review and are still on the fence....don't be...its amazing!

Surprise Wedding Proposal
We visited Amsterdam last week and I avail tripshooter "1hr. surprise wedding proposal" photo shoot. Everything went well according to plan and it was a great experience. They're very helpful in answering every questions I had and discussing every details of our plan. Elena our photographer was very professional, and really helps me a lot in coordinating everything. She's very kind and patient in guiding us during the photo shoot ( we're not that comfortable in front of the camera) and it was really a fun and enjoyable experience. The final photos looks amazing and very impressive, easy to download with very good quality. Thanks Tripshooter.

Great way to see the city
I chose to do the 1hr tour, which was more than worth the price. My guide John was friendly and very knowledgeable about the city. I had some issues getting used to the bike itself and he was very patient and wanted to make sure that I was able to use it comfortably before we set off. Even better, I ended up being the only person on the tour so the atmosphere was very relaxed and I was able to ask questions and feel more like I was having a conversation than being talked at. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone who wants to acquaint themselves with the main part of the city and bike culture in Amsterdam.

Great family outing exploring The Netherlands!
My husband and I, along with our two young adult daughters had a fabulous day touring the Dutch countryside by bike with Rolf. It was great to explore more of Amsterdam, but especially to visit some of the beautiful and historic villages outside the city. Rolf met us at our hotel at 10:00 am and we had a marvelous ride that wasn't too strenuous (The Netherlands is basically flat). We enjoyed a delicious lunch at a restaurant specializing in Dutch pancakes, and we ended the day back in Amsterdam at a brewery located in one of the few surviving windmills. It was a very fun and interesting day!

Brilliant
It is possible that my rating of this tour is so good only because the guide, John, was superb. He is obviously an enthusiastic fan of the city and this showed throughout our time with him. He knew his way around and did all that he could to show off the area. The pick-up and return of the bikes were hassle-free and the bikes themselves were perfect for this activity. We booked the 2.5-hour tour but there was no pressure and we overran considerably which summed up a large part of the appeal of the city and this tour, it is just very laid back.

Fun and educational experience!
My mother and I both feel that this bike tour was one of our favorite experiences while visiting Amsterdam. Jasper (our guide) took our group throughout the canals and less busy areas and taught us a lot about the architecture and history of this gorgeous city. We also loved the cafe we stopped at midway through the tour. It was a valuable experience to learn about certain landmarks and the architecture throughout the city. Next time I plan to take the longer tour throughout the country to visit the windmills. Worth every penny.

I just wanted to take a minute to thank Rolf for THE BEST walking tour I have ever had - In Europe or anywhere. I am a 44 year old man and had my 14 year old daughter with me. He was fun, so knowledgeable, understood his audience, and made the journey personal. What a wonderful day! I would recommend Rolf to ANYONE seeking a greater understanding of the city, how and when it was founded, and where to go for fun. We had a blast, and my 14 year old still talks about it. Thank you Rolf!
