Why locals love it
The Westerpark is quite in the centre, but has only few tourists. What makes the Westerpark so cool is that it has much more going on than any other park. It has a cinema, a few restaurants, a jazz cafe, a bakery, a petting zoo, some great clubs and bars and also tv-studios. Ah, and it is the first park in The Netherlands with free WiFi!

Why you should visit it
Visit the Westerpark if you need a break from the crowded city and you don't want to get high because of a cloud of weed smoke hangin' around like in some parts of the Vondelpark. Don't confuse the (actual) Westerpark with the neighborhood called 'Westerpark'. The park lies in the neighborhood.
Special tip
Every first Sunday of the month the 'Sunday Market Amsterdam' is held in Westerpark.
