Description
We will start our tour from Vouliagmeni Lake, part of the NATURA 2000 network. An idyllic landscape and result of a rare geological phenomenon.
The lake's present form was created when the roof of the cave fell due to erosion from the high temperature of the running water. At the edge of the lake starts a labyrinth underwater cave leading so far back under the mountain that the end of it remains elusive. Among the 14 tunnels, which make up the cave there is one reaching 800 meters in length, the longest in the world!
From Vouliagmeni, we will head to Cape Sounion, stopping on the way to capture the scenic seaside, tremendous views of the sea, small fishing harbors and secret coves.
In the southernmost point of Attica, lies the temple of Poseidon, made entirely of white marble and built to honor god of the Sea, Poseidon.
As the sun descends into the sea the colors of the sky and the golden light that engulfs the temple will mesmerize you! By the time of the sunset you will know how to capture the beautiful scenery -one of the best in Greece! - and take it with you in a timeless memory!
