This photo walk takes you to iconic archaeological sites, a charming little 16th-century church, and areas offering great views.
It also introduces you to the neoclassical and modern architecture of the buildings that line the vibrant Dionysiou Areopagitou Street, which eventually becomes Apostolou Pavlou, as you make your way towards the hip Thisseio neighbourhood.
You’ll be able to capture the local street life, street artists, archaeological landmarks, views of the Acropolis, and classic Athenian architectural details.
En route you’ll see art deco buildings, the Acropolis Museum, the Theatre of Dionysus (where drama competitions were held in honour of the Greek God Dionysus), the Odeon of Herodes Atticus (the 2nd-century theatre at the foot of the Acropolis), views of the Parthenon, and the Areopagus (where trials where once held), finally reaching the lively Thisseio neighbourhood. Here, you can sit down for a coffee break or pikilia (mixed appetisers).
