We are two Italian chefs and cooking instructors and we had a very interesting cooking experience with chef Stem at the bakery where he works near Monastiraki. We have worked in the upstairs laboratories, which were not spotless at the end of the working day. Nevertheless we got great tips from a very nice and knowledgeable chef even on simple traditional Greek recipes like spinach pie, tzatziki, Greek salad and sauté chicken. On the rooftop there is a great view of the Acropolis but, due to bad weather, we had a nice dinner in the inside restaurant together with our fellow foodies from New Zealand. In conclusion we were favorably impressed by the overall experience and we suggest it to any foodie.

One of the Best Travel Experiences!
We had a lovely time learning to cook with Chef Sam! The experience was an intimate educational evening like spending an evening with familiar friends in a new exciting place. The food was delicious and the view amazing! Amazing food, great company, spectacular rooftop view of Acropolis. Highly recommend!
Greek Cooking Class and Rooftop Dinner with Spiros
This was an amazing evening. We met Spiros in Monasteraki Square and introduced ourselves to the other couples from USA and Mexico who were enjoying the evening with us. We headed to Meliartos, the coffee shop he works in and headed up to the kitchen area to start preparing our meal. We started with a chocolate mousse dessert then prepared a spinach and ricotta pie, Tsitsaki dips, a classic Greek salad and a chicken and vege dish. We did pretty well but the finale was to head to their rooftop overlooking the Acropolis to enjoy a relaxing dinner of what we had prepared. We sat next to a building with a commercial rooftop restaurant and I'm sure our food and ambience was better that their's. Spiros was very helpful and informative giving us a great insight into Greek culture and the effects of the global economic disaster on his life. Good luck with your musical ambitions,Spiros.
