Why locals love it
This park stretches from the Northwest side of town all the way to downtown. If you're here on a beautiful day 10/10 would come out here. There are numerous trailheads leading to the river. Great for hiking, swimming and hanging out with friends. Extremely dog friendly. As long as you pick up your cans you can drink out there.
Why you should visit it
Beautiful creek (later river) flowing thru the woods. Well marked trails, hidden rope swings, rocks to jump off of are just a couple things to do out here. Great spot for picnics and day drinking with friends, just don't get too out of hand and remember to pickup your trash.
Special tip
Go to the trailhead by 360 (Capital of Texas Hwy) and Mo-Pac 1 service road. It's the best one.
