This was a great way to see a lot of sights in one day. Vladim was an excellent guide: very informative, and flexible, tailoring the trip to our needs. I would highly recommend this guide. If you take the long trip be sure to have a good breakfast first to set you up for an 8 hour day, or alternatively let the guide know you'd like to stop for lunch.

Description

The first stop on your tour will be the Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape – an interactive museum with rock engravings from the 10th century.

If the weather allows, we’ll make our way to the mud volcanoes – a good place for an off-road adventure! Azerbaijan is home to almost half of the world’s mud volcanoes. I’m not promising to show you all of them, but 15–20 will be enough for an unforgettable trip. You’ll feel as if you’ve arrived on a new planet!

We’ll then head to the Ramana Castle, one of the Absheron castle complexes. There were once more than 30 castles and towers in the area, some of which are now just ruins.

Our final stop will be the Ateshgah Fire Temple.

During the trip we can stop for tea or lunch. A trip to Yanar Dag (Fire Mountain) at night can be added upon request.

NOTE: During winter months the mud volcanoes might not be available because of rain or snow. I will do my best to deliver you there, but if we don't manage this, you will get a 10% refund or a trip to Yanar Dag added to your itinerary.

AMAZING tour!
I really cannot say enough positive things about Vadim, he made our trip to Azerbaijan an incredible experience and went far beyond our expectations, showing us an insider view of Azerbaijani culture. He took us in a nice SVU and was very flexible in meeting our needs, even taking us to the pharmacy and bazaar after the official tour had finished. Such a professional, kind, knowledgeable and overall good person, I would highly recommend Vadim to anyone looking to visit sites outside of Baku. As for the tour itself, it is very much worth every penny, you get to have a great tour of the mud volcanoes and rock art and the Ramana Castle shows you another side of the area with a view of the oil fields. If I ever go back to Azerbaijan, I will definitely contact Vadim again and I will suggest him to all of my friends.
A Fantastic Day
We had six days in Baku and booked this day tour in advance to give us the opportunity to see some more of Azerbaijan. Vadim was a great guy and a very knowledgable guide, who provided us with lots of information everywhere we visited. We couldn't fault the day and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Some of the sites are fairly remote and require off road vehicle access - we felt safe with Vadim at the wheel! Thank you Vadim for providing us with so many memories of beautiful Azerbaijan.
