After meeting at your accommodation in Baku (or another location of your choice), we’ll head to north-west Azerbaijan.
The first stop on the tour is the Diri Baba Mausoleum (1401), built into the side of a cliff in the village of Maraza.
Next, we’ll visit the ancient Yeddi Gumbez Mausoleum in Shamakhi. If you fly with Azerbaijan Airlines, you may see these domes in their on-board ads.
If you’re interested, we can then drive to the oldest mosque in Azerbaijan (743). Nowadays it's a replica; a few earthquakes destroyed the original.
After a short tea break on the road to Ismayilli, we’ll continue on to Gabala.
Our next stop will be the Yeddi Gözəl (Seven Beauties) waterfall, followed by the picturesque Nohur Lake.
Once we arrive in Gabala, we’ll either walk or drive through the city to the rope line.
How we spend the rest of our day depends on you and the amount of time we have left. We could stop for lunch somewhere, visit the Gabala Archaeological Center, stop in the village of Nij to see 2 old Udi churches, have some fun at the Gabala Shooting Club, or just drive back to Baku.
