Griz is located at 2000m above the sea level surrounded by the steep deep canyon of Gudiyalchay from one side and by steep rocky slopes of GizilGaya from the other. The people of the village of Griz belong to Shahdag branch of Lezgi language group. They have unique language and cultural heritage.
