Undeniable modern, the late Antoni Tàpies worked in a variety of media, utilizing not only canvas, but found objects to examine the political and spiritual dimensions to life before, under and after the Franco years. The Fundació collects many of his works, as well as collections of Asian and Pre-Columbian art.

The Fundació Antoni Tàpies is housed in a stunningly converted library building from the modernisme-phase of Catalan architecture. Rather than converting the space completely, as much as possible has been preserved in what becomes a dialogue between the art of Tàpies and the design of Lluís Domènech i Montaner.
The Fundació is on the ArTicket, great to save a bit of money. It's also extremely conveniently lcoated if you're doing the modernisme-route already.
