Why locals love it
Moog was one of the pioneers of electronic music in Barcelona, and still going strong. Well, strong enough. Though the party crown has been snatched by bigger venues like Apolo and Razzmatazz, Moog keeps it real 7 days a week. Wednesdays are the biggest night; other nights feature residents.
Why you should visit it
Even though zoning laws have had Moog turn down the volume, the place is still a safe bet for a good night out. Wednesdyas often feature big name DJs from abroad; other nights are local residents. The narrow downstairs play relentless techno; upstairs, pop and indie hits double as a chill-out for worn-out ravers.
Special tip
Look for hawkers handing out free tickets before 02:00 on Las Ramblas in front of l'Arc de Teatre, all days except Wednesday.
