Origens might seem like something of a tourist trap - two prime locations in the Born district would see to that. That's why we'd recommend the one in Eixample, as the crowd is just that much more local. Origens offers a great choice of classic Catalan dishes without much fanfare. Even though it's a chain-restaurant, it is well-presented.
Why you should visit it
Again, Origens might not win the hearts of critics or foodies, but what they do, they do well: Salads, the traditional coca, stews, steaks and vegetarian options to boot. It's not the cheapest place, but after chowing through a million boring bocadillos, Origens deserve mention for consistent quality at a fair price.
