We are a family of 4 (10 and 14 yr olds) who wanted a unique experience in Barcelona, so booked the Gaudí Tour & Mosaic Workshop and it was AMAZING! Christian started us off with a walking tour of some of Gaudí's (Casa Mila, Casa Batllo) and works by other architects of his time. He gave us a great overview of Gaudí--answering every one of our questions--and made the walking tour interesting to all 4 of us (not an easy feat, as it was booked on our second day there and we were jetlagged). Then he dropped us off at Angelika's studio where we could have stayed for hours working on our mosaics. All four of us were TOTALLY engaged in our projects. The best thing about this tour is you go home with both more knowledge of the city and one of its most famous architects and an amazing souvenir that you've made yourself. We LOVED this experience and would highly recommend it to everyone who wants something really special from Barcelona. Thanks so much, Christian and Angelika. You made our stay extra special!

Description
What is Modernism? Why did it develop? Why does the roof of Casa Batlló look a dragon´s back? Christian will answer these questions during the walk along the famous Gaudí houses and the old town. Discover more buildings from that era in the medieval quarter of Born. Get to know Barcelona’s history and legends while strolling through its labyrinth of little streets.
The walk will lead us to Angelika´s workshop where you will learn the technique named “Trencadís”. As you will have discovered during the walk, this technique - using materials such as shards of glass, ceramics or mirrors - can be found on Gaudí´s work. After a short introduction she will show you the basics, handling of tools and how to create your first trencadís masterpiece such as a photo frame, a coaster or a heart. Angelika was rewarded in 2016 by the Catalan President with a master craftsman certificate for her skills and being an ambassador of cultural traditions.
