I love being outdoors, so, I expected this to be good. Well, it exceeded my expectations. Ferran has knowledge AND experience. He contacted me before the hike to find out if I had a particular interest and my fitness level. On the hike, he shared with me interesting facts about the area and he made sure I was safe and that I felt comfortable. I definitely recommend it! I got the physical challenge I was looking for, I took breathtaking pictures (I tried), and I experienced an unexpected sense of peace and joy. I LOVED IT!

Description

Montserrat is considered to be the most important mountain in Catalonia for its spiritual symbolism, curious rock formations and cultural heritage. Located 50 kilometres outside of Barcelona, this rocky massif offers many breathtaking tour options thanks to its spectacular surroundings, stunning views and environmental significance.

The whimsical shapes are the result of a geological and geomorphological process that has occurred over millions of years. Many of the rocks look like animals and other recognisable shapes: the elephant, the mummy, the cat… You’ll see quite a few of them along the way!

I have lived in the area since childhood and regularly hike, climb and bring groups to Montserrat’s most special spots as a qualified mountain guide.

This hiking route takes 4–5 hours and has a 200-meters cumulative altitude. There are no shops or bars on the way, so you must bring your own food and drinks (1.5–2 litres of water per person). Mountain shoes, sun protection and a rain jacket are recommended.

Is recomendable to have a mountain accident insurance, if you don't have your own, let me know in advance and I will make one for you.
