Our family of 4 including our two teenage daughters had the best time! Mara was a great leader and chef and involved all of us about 15 in total. Every person in our group had a fabulous time!

A party not a class
This event was more of a party than a class. We went to a market, which was the best part. Then the guests hung out in an industrial type space while the chef prepped the meal. The people were nice. We had some basic tapas ingredients and glorified fruit juice rumored to be sangria. Then we donned aprons and hats and watched the chef cook and chat. This was someone who had made paella 1000 times tossing another one together. No need to follow a recipe here. The chef was nice, even charming. Some participants poked the peppers and onions as they were sauteed. When the paella was done we ate. It was OK. We could then photograph a piece of paper with a paella recipe on it. I really like to cook. It was a nice time but not a cooking class. If it was billed as a party, I would give it another star at least.

Our Spanish chef was wonderful and accommodating! We started by taking a walk to the market where we bought fresh seafood...then we took a quick walk to a local kitchen where we all participated in the cooking experience. She showed us how to prepare the ingredients and we even learned how to make sangria! I think it loses one star because the group was too large - we had about 21 or 22 people, making it so that not everyone was able to participate fully in the cooking experience, but it sure was delicious! Definitely recommend.

We had such an incredible time. Our group of 7 joined up with another 21 people for a great evening. We even made some new friends! I highly recommend this tour.

We had a good time at the cooking class experience; however, the class size was too big to make it a really great experience (approx 30 ppl). We met a lot of fun people and the chef and bartender were great. Overall, a fun time!

Tour left without us even though we arrived early
We arrived early for our tour at the meeting place in a bar and identified ourself to the tour guide and gave him our voucher. We went to sit on the patio and were told he would come and get us. After waiting quite a while we checked with someone behind the bar and they told us that they had already left. We waited another 45 minutes while they tried to contact them, but they weren't able to get in touch with them. We were given a refund and an apology, but it ruined our night.

The food, the people and the atmosphere was great!
The market is closed on the Sunday so if you are really interested in going to the market, don't go on a Sunday!

Our guide was good. We were brought to the market where the ingredients were bought. Then we headed to a private kitchen where all the cooking started. Overall it was an interesting 3hr session.

Great night, great food, great value!
We absolutely loved this cooking class- it was a great way to briefly explore the market, learn a bit about Castilian cuisine, and eat a delicious meal. If you are on the fence you should definitely book this experience- it was a highlight of our time in Barcelona and the price was unbeatable.

Awesome cooking experience
We did the Spanish Cooking Class a couple of nights ago in Barcelona. It was a great all round Spanish food experience. Starting with the introduction to the large Barcelona Markets - learning about the meat, locals, seafood, spices and taste testing ingredients and of course buying some essential ingredients for our Paella. We then walked to the cooking/dining location - nice walk through central Barcelona. Lovely little authentic restaurant set up where we prepared tapa like starters and then the Paella. We also were served Sangria and told how to make it. He answered all our questions, shared his experience and got to know the group while the coking process took place. We then all enjoyed the amazing food. Would definitely recommend this for an evening in Barcelona!

Wonderful cooking experience!
My husband and I had a great night preparing tapas, cooking paella and making sangria - and of course eating and drinking it all! The evening started off with a trip to the market, which was fun. The chef was excellent. We picked up a lot of tips for our own paella. We had a class of about 12, which I think was a good size. Would definitely recommend.
