Description

If you’re interested in the history of Catalonia, this is the tour for you! Travel back to the times of Imperial Rome by visiting the ancient capital of Hispania Citerior.

Tarragona is located 100 kilometres south of Barcelona on the Costa Dorada. It’s home to one of the most important and best-preserved Roman archaeological sites in Spain, also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Tarragona, the first stop being one of the entrances to this historical city. You’ll see the impressive Les Ferreres Aqueduct aka Devil’s Bridge, which is a Roman aqueduct.

You’ll have the opportunity to explore the ancient walls surrounding the city and see one of the best-preserved circuses in Europe, hidden under 19th-century building structures. You’ll also see traces of the ancient Roman forum and the ruins of the amphitheatre, located on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea.

The tour will end on the so-called “balcony of the Mediterranean”, an observation point where you can admire beautiful views of the beach, the ocean and the historical city.
