Barcelona is bike-friendly, so it makes sense to explore it like this - especially when the tour takes you away from the crowded tourist spots. For example, I never expected former industrial district of Poble Nou to be worth seeing! The bikes themselves are good and maneuverable, so the ride was a treat in itself. Also, a bike tour is a great way to meet new people - the group is small, and the pace is comfortable, so you get a chance to chat to your companions. And of course, thank you Maria for being a great guide!

Description

With a strong focus on alternative culture, this bike tour takes you to places off the typical tourist trail and gives you an authentic introduction to the Catalonian way of life.

Your friendly local guide will lead you away from Barcelona’s crowded touristic areas and show you the real face of the city. You’ll get the chance to discover places that aren’t usually featured in standard sightseeing itineraries or guidebooks.

Please note that this tour has no fixed itinerary. Just like Barcelona, it’s always evolving and is influenced by the latest trends and subcultures. We guarantee that no two tours are ever the same!

We might visit a squat to taste some delicious organic food or head to a café to dip churros in a delectable hot chocolate sauce. We might visit areas like Gracia or Poble Nou for some vintage and second-hand shopping. We might give our bicycles a rest and join the locals in their favourite free time activities followed by a refreshing drink at a special bar. These are just a few examples of things we might do and places we might go to give you an idea of what to expect.

Join us, be surprised and enjoy a truly unique experience!

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a short trip to Barcelona. Looking for an alternative tour for seeing the sights I stumbled on Steel Monkey Tours. I booked the tour before we left with Maria, our guide for the day made everything so easy. We missed out the main tourist areas and saw things that we perhaps wouldn't have done on our own! The bike ride it's self was a breeze and we covered a huge area. Maria was a great guide/host and gave us a few names places that were god to eat at, we followed her advice and she was right! I would recommend this tour to fellow travellers who what to get out of the busy Rumblas and see a few alternative sights! All in all a great time was had Thanks Maria
Enjoyed, recommended!
First of all it was a hot day when we had our tour and biking was much better than walking as it made it bit cooler. Barcelona is also a big city with lots to see and to do that by biking was a good idea. Our tour guide made the tour very interesting and cheerful. She was polite and knowledgeable without being boring. Lots of information about the city's history and culture. And then among these were visits to nice local curiosities. Pace was suitably relaxed. Bike worked nicely. Was good to get away from the most tightly packed tourist-zones and eat in peace without constant noise.
