Wanderbeak: Born to Eat Tapas Tour

102.50 EUR

Our love for Barcelona started in the enchanting artisanal neighborhood of El Born, in the heart of the old city. Inspired by our passion for the area and its wonderful heritage, we created "Born to Eat" to share our favourite bars, bodegas & restaurants with you.

Duration: 3 hours
    Available in
  • French,
  • English,
  • Spanish,
  • Italian
We booked a private Born to Eat tapas tour on our first night in Barcelona. Marwa was our tour guide, and she was excellent! Even though the booking said maximum 8 people, she was able to have the whole group of ten people. We visited several great places for food and drinks, and Marwa was very knowledgeable about food, wine and the history of Barcelona. She also gave us some great suggestions on where to go for shopping, food and drinks during our stay. This was the perfect start of our Barcelona visit, and we highly recommend this tour to anyone that may visit Barcelona! Thanks again, will be back for more next time!

We start our afternoon’s experience with aperitifs in a beautiful rustic bar. You’ll get to know your fellow travellers and guide as we share some of the intertwined history and culture of the areas, to set the scene for the rest of your tour.

You’ll learn about the traditions of vermut, the little alleyways of Born, the politics in Catalunya; from the medieval past to the civil war and how all these have influenced the eating culture today.

Over the next few hours we visit three more tapas food stops, indulging in dishes from different parts of Spain and savoring the drinks that are paired with them. Our final stop is a traditional wine bodega, where we indulge in the art of wine tasting. Catalunya has no less than 11 D.O.’s and you will get to try at least 4 different types of wine or cava, with some traditional Catalan fuet to round off your tour.

This is an experience to get to know the feel of our barrio of El Born; an afternoon with locals going where they go – learning, laughing, eating and drinking. Join our small group tour and discover Barcelona like a local with us on our Born To Eat – Barcelona Tapas and Wine Tour. Minimum requirement for the tour to run is 2 pax

Fantastic tapas tour!
We had a great time with Donnie, learning about the food and drink of Barcelona, but also a lot about Catalonian history and current events. He was very knowledgeable and tailored the conversation to our interests. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this tour!!
Amazing fun!
From start to finish, our young guides were animated and enthusiastic. They were extremely well informed about the area and the yummy food that was selected for us to taste. Our guides made it even more fun than it would have been anyway. Everything was interesting, but the wine was especially good and interesting. It was especially well presented, almost as well as a sommelier might have done. We were very impressed, overall. We would even do it again.
Highlight of our visit to Barcelona
Can't recommend this tour enough!
My family and I (there's 5 of us) were very keen to do a walking tapas and wine tasting tour during our short visit to Barcelona. We wanted to make sure we did a tour that wasn't too long, not too much walking, but plenty of tasty food and drink and I can honestly say Wanderbeak has hit the nail on the head with the tour that they offer! We were taken around the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona where we were given interesting information about the history, culture and local traditions, taken to unassuming but fabulous typical Spanish restaurants which we would never have thought to go in ourselves but I'm so glad we got to experience it, and tasted an array of different types of Spanish cuisines and deserts! To top all of that off, our guide Rowan was fab, very personable and chatty with a great sense of humour. He made the tour interesting and it is obvious a lot of time and thought has been invested into providing the best possible experience for tourists. I will definitely be recommending this as a MUST DO to any of my friends that travel to Barcelona!
Worth it!
I'm not a big one for tours as I find them too big and non-traditional, however I could not be more wrong about Wanderbeak. My fiancé & I met with both tour guides Marwa & Rowan for their 3-hour food & wine tour and found it exceptional. From the easy booking process to the amazing food destinations and drinks to cure anyone's taste buds, the tour was more of an afternoon with friends.
We were the only two people on this tour and so we felt like it was a more intimate, private tour & felt very lucky!
Marwa also gave us some great suggestions on where to spend our birthday dinner and she couldn't be more on point.
Thanks again, will be back for more next time!
Barcelona Tapas Tour
My wife and I along with 2 friends were a part of a small group (8 in total) that took the Wanderbeak Tapas tour through Barcelona. It was a fantastic experience and truly one of the highlights of our visit to Barcelona! Our tour host, Blanca, was the most friendly, engaging and knowledgeable guide we could have imagined! The food was and drink was wonderful and we learned so much about the history and culture of Barcelona from Blanca's from Blanca's commentary along the way. She was exceptional and we recommend this tour highly to anyone that may visit Barcelona. Thanks Blanca!

Must do upon arrival!
This was an awesome way to get an intro to Barcelona. Our guide was awesome and gave us the perfect mixture of history of the food and landmarks we were seeing. We got to see the 3 mains areas of the old part of town so it was a great way to get to know the city center.

This was A LOT of food! We were definitely stuffed at the end.
Sevan and Spanish Food Tour
A friend and I took the Spanish Foods tour with Sevan. We had a wonderful time - the food was delicious and Sevan was fun and a great storyteller. Will do it again next time I am in Barcelona.
Amazing time
Evelyn was an amazing guide. This was the first time we did a guided tour (and our first time visiting Barcelona) and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting this city. We saw a variety of local places to eat and drink and even went to a place that hasn't changed since 1625.

Evelyn was an amazing guide, she made sure everyone felt included and by the end it felt like we were just a group of friends on a long walk in the city.

I'll be a repeat customer for sure whether in Barcelona or other cities as they expand!
