Wanderbeak: Born to Eat Tapas Tour

Our love for Barcelona started in the enchanting artisanal neighborhood of El Born, in the heart of the old city. Inspired by our passion for the area and its wonderful heritage, we created "Born to Eat" to share our favourite bars, bodegas & restaurants with you.
Duration 3 hours
Private tour available in French, English, Spanish, Italian
Private tour pricing from 109 EUR per person
Group tour available in English
Group tour pricing from 440 EUR per group
Booked a private (4 people total) Born to Eat tapas tour on our last night in Barcelona. The tour was absolutely amazing. Rowan was our guide and he was excellent. Very knowledgeable about food, wine and all things Barcelona. We went to 4 different places for food. Each stop included drinks and last stop included wine tasting with 3 different wines. Plenty of alcohol was included. After the tour, we all went to an amazing cocktail bar with a killer atmosphere and drinks. This wasn't part of the tour but Rowan ended up staying with us till the end. The entire evening lasted about 5 hours. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a great night out. If you have at least 4 people in your group, doing a private tour is worth the extra money as it was not a big difference in price. Either way, you will not leave disappointed.

Description

We start our afternoon’s experience with aperitifs in a beautiful rustic bar. You’ll get to know your fellow travellers and guide as we share some of the intertwined history and culture of the areas, to set the scene for the rest of your tour.

You’ll learn about the traditions of vermut, the little alleyways of Born, the politics in Catalunya; from the medieval past to the civil war and how all these have influenced the eating culture today.

Over the next few hours we visit three more tapas food stops, indulging in dishes from different parts of Spain and savoring the drinks that are paired with them. Our final stop is a traditional wine bodega, where we indulge in the art of wine tasting. Catalunya has no less than 11 D.O.’s and you will get to try at least 4 different types of wine or cava, with some traditional Catalan fuet to round off your tour.

This is an experience to get to know the feel of our barrio of El Born; an afternoon with locals going where they go – learning, laughing, eating and drinking. Join our small group tour and discover Barcelona like a local with us on our Born To Eat – Barcelona Tapas and Wine Tour. Minimum requirement for the tour to run is 2 pax

Barcelona Tapas Tour
My wife and I along with 2 friends were a part of a small group (8 in total) that took the Wanderbeak Tapas tour through Barcelona. It was a fantastic experience and truly one of the highlights of our visit to Barcelona! Our tour host, Blanca, was the most friendly, engaging and knowledgeable guide we could have imagined! The food was and drink was wonderful and we learned so much about the history and culture of Barcelona from Blanca's from Blanca's commentary along the way. She was exceptional and we recommend this tour highly to anyone that may visit Barcelona. Thanks Blanca!
Worth it!
I'm not a big one for tours as I find them too big and non-traditional, however I could not be more wrong about Wanderbeak. My fiancé & I met with both tour guides Marwa & Rowan for their 3-hour food & wine tour and found it exceptional. From the easy booking process to the amazing food destinations and drinks to cure anyone's taste buds, the tour was more of an afternoon with friends. We were the only two people on this tour and so we felt like it was a more intimate, private tour & felt very lucky! Marwa also gave us some great suggestions on where to spend our birthday dinner and she couldn't be more on point. Thanks again, will be back for more next time!
