Temple of Heaven (天坛)

Built in 1420 with a total area of 270 acres, this is the largest building for religious worship in China, which was originally used by the Ming and Qing emperors to pay homage to Heaven and to pray for a year of rich harvest.

Why you should visit it
While it is not the temple that most locals go to, it is definitely one of the most beautiful, and with lots of things to see. It is crowded, like most places in Beijing, but it is worth a visit
